Collabs + Special Projects

PlatteForum Residency, Denver CO

PlatteForum is an award-winning urban art and activism laboratory where artists work side-by-side with high school students to create a new body of work for exhibition. As the artist-in-residence from January 16-March 1, 2024, I led weekly workshops with 40 teen ArtLab interns. With a focus on mental health, students designed and hand-dyed their own unique Keeper Doll. Each figure holds a secret written message inside of something each student struggles with that they need to express and the dolls symbolically absorb and hold it for them. Culminating in a month-long exhibit, their dolls were shown alongside my soft sculptures that also explored the unspoken battles we wage within ourselves.

The Moon in Her Mouth Exhibit

Arvada Center Gallery, Arvada CO

In celebration of women’s suffrage and the centennial of the 19th Amendment, this 2020 exhibit focused on collaborative artwork centering ideas of equality, inclusivity, gender identity, unity, community, and more. Autumn T. Thomas combined her suspended sculpture with my hand-painted textiles to create Itinerant Preacher at Battle Creek. This installation is a soulful tribute to Sojourner Truth, credited as the first African American suffragist for her legendary efforts in the fight for abolition and women’s rights.

Pink Progression: Collaborations Exhibit

Tactile x Studio Blkbird

In a design collaboration with Tactile Audio Furniture in 2019, we created a limited edition collection of pendant lamps. Inspired by classic Danish design, each one-of-a-kind linen shade is hand-painted with dye, combined with handcrafted birch wood. Lamps range from $350-$550 based on size. Email for a list of available lamps for sale.

In 2019 I was commissioned by New York City Pride to design a collar for the late Honorable Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Associate Justice for the Supreme Court, for the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall commemoration and World Pride 2019. The collar was presented to Ginsberg in recognition of her tremendous contributions to the LGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized communities.
